The Author Behind the Stories
My name is Gabrielle Davis, and I’m a Brisbane-based fantasy author, part-time lawyer, and full-time dreamer.
I write fantasy stories featuring strong female protagonists, shadow magic, political intrigue, and immersive worlds inspired by history.
My debut novel, Road to Freedom, was shortlisted for the Hawkeye Publishing Manuscript Development Prize in both 2021 and 2022 before being published in 2024. The sequel, Pirates and Courtiers, was released in 2026, and the final book in the trilogy, Empress of Shadows, is set for release in 2027.
Through my stories, I explore themes of freedom, identity, power, and resilience, creating characters who challenge the world around them and discover who they truly are.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me reading, practising yoga, exploring nature, or spending time with dogs.
